Recently a work situation really rattled my cage and prompted me to take a stand in the workplace in a way that I had never had to do before.
I got in touch with my contact, Suzanne, at Quakers and Business to ask if anyone would be able to support me as I went through this workplace situation. I wanted to explore if there was more I could do to witness in the workplace; to shine a light on an ethical question.
A member of Quakers in Business, John Gray runs his own consultancy and offered to see if his business coaching method could help.
Across a series of sessions, John helped me explore my need to integrate my Quaker and religious practice into the workplace, both on the specific ethical question and more generally. I started out asking for help around a specific problem, but over the couple of months that we worked together, the topics to explore became much broader than my current workplace situation. The whole process has been spiritually uplifting in a way I wasn’t anticipating!
I also find the monthly series from Quakers in Business on values in the workplace fantastic and often the topic has hit home for me very precisely.
