Vision
To be the best first place to find out how to do business ethically, by being the custodian and modern interpreter of Quaker principles in the practical business world, rooted in the Religious Society of Friends.
Mission
Empowering our members to follow their own concerns in promoting Quaker principles in business & the workplace;
Connecting our members with each other more easily, helping others find us easily;
Presenting our business ethics content in as many practical ways as we can devise and sustain;
Developing & Promoting Quaker principles in the world of business and economics.
Priorities
Website: make it the place to find information, and to communicate between fellow members.
Purpose: make it clear to all not only from our documentation but our actions, what we are trying to do, perhaps with a strapline – e.g. taking ethics to work.
Increase membership to 200, by end 2013, with more than 70% in membership for more than 12 months, by:
annual survey of members;
telephone interview of leavers; and
considering providing a benefits package.
- Networking: devise new and improved methods for those earning their living in the business world to achieve more by signposting the resources they seek.
Face-to-face opportunities: maintain standard at that of recent NXD conference; focus on providing personal development and tuition experiences for members; consider developing opportunities to do business.
Management Committee succession plan to 2015
Provide training: for ethical behaviour in business, in handling ethical dilemmas by compiling a library of case studies, including:
stories of ethical dilemma management;
contemporary Quaker business practice.
Ethical audit: offer businesses a metric for assessing their business
- Staffing: Consider seeking funding to employ someone to undertake some of this work.
